Daylight Breakfast Art
Self taught Asian-American digital artist with a fascination with esoteric, dreamlike, fantasy environments.Started drawing as a hobby with pen and a sketchbook then transitioned to digital art for the past decade.A life involving art and creativity is my goal.Inspired by high fantasy and sci-fi concepts that relate to the philosophy of the human condition.
Tools:
Ipad Air M4, Procreate, Huion Kamvas 16 (2021), Krita, GIMP
Art Philosphy:
I always want to be telling a story. I want to inspire questions on the format and context.
I enjoy establishing interest with blends of saturated colors that create stark contrasts between highlights and shadows. My paintings incorporate soft glow and dreamlike elements.
I want my art to feel sentimental.

"If you keep holding on to what we've lost
You're gonna drag down the road behind us"
Quote is from an Anthony Green song, Slowing Down (Long Time Coming).
At first was a fire on the ridge, but then an impact from the sky came to mind.
"You even got how her blue eye is blurry!"
Portrait of one of my childhood cats, Buchou!
Over a decade ago my little sister found her in our front yard and we ended up keeping her.
She is very skittish, cute, soft, and has heterochromia.
"I can never escape me."
Self Portrait.
Always feel the need to paint the concepts that are hard to explain.
When I look within myself I feel royal blue and chipped paint. I feel an intimate inviting space with dark hallways and bright green gardens.
Heavy intention on textures.
"This is a gift, you know.
I won't forget it."
A digital painting of my beloved first Baldur's Gate 3 character, Adonai.
He did questionable things to get on Astarion's good side, was besties with Jaheira, wasn't afraid of brain worms etc, etc, standard fare.
"Peace- at a cost."
As the iterations went on she took on more of a relaxed, albeit still dangerous, goddess.
She is more likely to be mischievous than spiteful- at least for this century.
Does she seem like a threat to you?
"I long for a peaceful fall day."
I don't know what's in me to depict myself as a planet on fire, but I dig it!
First try with using Procreate!
Getting used to the program, tried a new style.
"Sometimes, doesn't time just... dragon."
Inspired by ethereal forms and the shape of an ampersand (&).
"... I'd burn a thousand more bridges in order to feel this way again..."
An interpretation of a dragoon queen, intent on laying waste to quench her thirst for the thrills of battle.
This piece is more of a study of using different tools and brushes then what I usually use.
Focused more on having more of a "looser" and rough feel than my other published works.
"Even the unseen can weigh one down."
My inspiration was a shower thought, about the creeping feeling of despair even during times of wonder.
Drawing this gives me a cautious feeling, about legends and tales of forbidden hovels nested in the corner of the forest.
Of what you can encounter when you wander off the beaten path.
"Saying goodbye, for now."
Inspired by the bright and dewy dawns and the solemn and beautiful dusks.
A renewal of a drawing I made in a sketchbook over about a decade ago in 2015.
It's refreshing to see how my style has evolved over the years.
"... and so, they were fast friends."
A re-imagining of a sketch I drew about a decade ago in 2014!
Always appreciated the concept of that drawing, and wanted to bring it to life!
"On the way home."
Inspired by my still small (in cactus size) cactus, Paul.
The figure I imagine is a little forest spirit.

Philosophy
I envisioned a song about taking a walk while it was sprinkling, maybe through an overgrown yard with hip length plants.
As the song developed it reminds me of a sunrise, with the feeling of waking up and blearily looking out your window to the morning light peaking through the trees.
Process
Worked on this song on and off for a few months. It has brought me great joy and a lot of lessons on how FLstudio and production in general works. I have a great passion for music and am glad I am learning how to share how it sounds in my head.
Somehow I made this work. Hopefully the next project will make more sense.
I think I started with the wrong logic on patterns but was too deep in and decided to roll with it.
My goal next project is to be concise, consistent, and learn deeper systems.
Thank you youtube guide makers.
Dayspring - Daylight Breakfast
✧ Tools: FLstudio
✧ Version: Version 1_16.
Hosted on Google Drive.
First time in the finishing stages of a song, very happy with how it turned out so far.
It is "done" as far as I can get myself to stop opening the project and tweaking knobs.
